Time to Start Work
The spade is waiting so everything is ready for the Gardener to start work:
The Gardener gave me the statue of a mountain lion for my birthday one year and it has sat and guarded the plants ever since.

It's Hard to Believe
that the Dry Garden has been in place for less then 18 months. Plants have really taken off and are blooming profusely.

Extreme Pruning
The 'prunings' from the California live oak at the side of our house.
This is the live oak the prunings came from. It's just had its 'spring drop' of old leaves and we're waiting for the new foliage to appear.

Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument
This lovely park is in the 'green desert', so called because this area receives about 10'' of rain in a typical year. This rain is spread through the year and allows far more luxuriant growth than is found in the California desert.
